National Amateur Interdistrict Championship rolls into Week 3

San Pedro’s Terror Squad and Conquerors Football Club (FC) did not have the best results in the third week of the National Amateur Interdistrict football tournament. Neither of the island teams could win a game over the weekend. They are now preparing to secure better results in the tournament’s fourth week, which is expected to continue this weekend.

Kickboxing Night celebrates Father’s Day in San Pedro

On Saturday, June 15th, the Belize Combat Championship (BCC) and the San Pedro Town Council Sports (SPTCS) organized a special event at the Louis Sylvestre Complex (Saca Chispas) to honor all fathers of the Ambergris Caye. The event, which started around 9PM and ended around 1AM, featured kickboxing matches that brought athletes from Mexico and El Salvador to San Pedro. The event also showcased children's development of skills and experience in the sport.

Terror Squad and Conquerors FC participate in the National Amateur Interdistrict Tournament

The National Amateur Interdistrict Championship kicked off over the weekend with intense matches across the country on Saturday and Sunday, June 15th and 16th. The tournament, a battleground for 18 teams, witnessed nine games of pure adrenaline on the opening weekend. Two of those games occurred at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town, with Terror Squad and Conquerors Football Clubs (FC) representing the island.

Lil Sharks Seniors are the Mayor’s Co-Ed Softball Cup 2024 champions

On Sunday, June 16th, the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Arena was ablaze with the intensity of the Mayor's Co-Ed Softball Cup finals. The clash between team Crushers and Lil Shark Seniors was electrifying, with both teams showcasing their exceptional softball skills. Ultimately, Lil Shark Seniors emerged as the champions, securing a 15-7 victory and the coveted trophy.

San Pedro Tiger Sharks eliminated in BEBL’s semi-finals

The San Pedro Tiger Sharks were eliminated from the 2024 Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL) championship on Friday, June 7th, by the Belize City Defenders in the semi-finals. The crucial match occurred at the Belize City Civic Center, where the island team gave their best effort but ultimately fell short against the Defenders, who clinched a close 72-69 victory. However, the excitement doesn't end here. The coveted BEBL Championship trophy is now between Benny's Hurricanes and Belize City Defenders, with the first of two matches scheduled for June 21st.

Legends Over 35 Cup ends another weekend of fantastic football

Two thrilling Legends Over 35 Cup matches on Sunday, June 9th, closed another weekend of spectacular football action at the Ambergris Stadium. The matches between J & L Boys and Seabulls Assasins, followed by Tropical Strikers and Los Gaseros, did not disappoint football fans who came out to support their favorite teams.

On Sunday, June 9th, the Female 7-a-side football competition brought another round of exciting sports entertainment. In an action-packed game, Girl Power crushed Hurricanes 6-0, climbing to the top of the tournament's standing with this flawless victory.

Honorable Andre Perez hosts victory dinner for SPRCS Boys Football Team

On Friday, May 31st, Area Representative for Belize Rural South, Honorable Andre Perez, hosted a dinner at El Patio Restaurant to celebrate the San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) male football team's back-to-back victory in the Bishop's Cup Football Tournament.
