Belize’s Destiny Wagner passes the Miss Earth crown to new queen
On November 29th, Belizean beautify ambassador, and 2021 Miss Earth Destiny Wagner passed on the crown to the new Miss Earth South Korean Mina Sue Choi. The pageant to select a new Miss Earth took place in Manila, Philippines, in which Choi, a communications student, competed against contestants from 85 other countries for the prestigious award.

Elise-Gayonne Vernon, 21, from Biscayne Village in the Belize District, was selected as Miss World Belize 2022. Vernon is a young farmer and a certified beekeeper.

Islander Babee Lopez to participate in Miss World Belize pageant
On Saturday, October 29th, San Pedro's Babee Lopez will be gracing the Miss World Belize pageant stage in Belize City. The event will occur at the Ramada Princess Hotel, where six contestants will compete for the coveted prize of becoming Belize's next Miss World.

San Pedrana Iris Salguero hands over the crown to the New Miss Universe Belize
Belize has a new beauty ambassador, 25-year-old Ashley Lightburn, who was crowned Miss Universe 2022 on Saturday, August 13th, at the Bliss Centre for Performing Arts in Belize City. Lightburn will represent the Jewel (Belize) in December's upcoming 71st edition of the International Miss Universe pageant in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Miss Universe Belize receives donation from BTB
On Tuesday, August 2nd, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) presented a $13,000 donation to the Miss Universe Belize pageant. Present to receive the donation from the Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Anthony Mahler, was the reigning Miss Universe Belize San Pedrana Iris Salguero. The pageant is on August 13th at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts in Belize City.

Official sashing ceremony held to introduce this year’s Miss San Pedro contestants
The official sashing ceremony introducing the Miss San Pedro Pageant candidates was held the traditional way on Monday, June 6th, after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pageant was virtually held last year. Held on Trigger Fish Street next to the El Fogon Restaurant, the presentation of the four lovely young ladies vying for the title included a fashion show with the participants gracing the stage.

Miss Earth Destiny Wagner visits San Pedro
The beautiful Destiny Evelyn Wagner, Miss Earth 2021, arrived in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, on Friday, December 10th, for an official visit to La Isla Bonita. Mayor Gualberto ‘Wally’ Nuñez welcomed her along with staff from the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) and islanders.

Miss Earth 2021 asks San Pedranos to take care of their natural resources
After being crowned with the prestigious title, Miss Earth 2021, Belizean Destiny Wagner, 25, is home. The Belizean queen plans to visit various areas in the country, including San Pedro Town. Knowing the island’s sensitive surroundings, Wagner is asking San Pedranos to protect and preserve their natural resources.
